Trust

Trust is a funny thing. If it was easy to give, it wouldn't be trust; it would be fact. Knowing.

Trust is when you look at a person, and you choose to hope, that beyond all the possible doubts, they will come through.

Trust is vital in our relationship to God. What do you think "Waiting on the LORD" means? Waiting implied "hopeful expectation." So, it is with hopeful expectation that we are able to trust God. What is funny is, if ever there was a Person who we could trust, it is God. Yet, if there is ever a Person who we KNEW would come through, it ought to be God. We don't need to trust God, we need to remember that He is Love, All Powerful, and In Control. Why trust in the Absolute One? He IS. Period. Plain and simple. So, in His case, trust is more about us than Him. We need to trust God. He doesn't need us to trust Him. We, with out limited knowledge and our insane ability to forget about His overwhelming love, must trust in the One being who is beyond trust. He is goodness through and through. Yet, as humans, all we can do is "wait on the LORD." And it feels like waiting, but that is because we do not fully understand. So yes, trust is vital in our relationship, not because God is trustworthy, but because trust is an expression of our limited ability to grasp God, yet the strongest attempt we can possibly make. So, we trust in Him :)

Trust is vital in our relationships with other people. It is purely for the reason that Trust is the best way we have to comprehend God that we must also trust other people. For, if we truly Trust God, we trust He is with us and providing for us in the midst of our relationships.

As someone with "trust issues", a summer of learning how to trust is like re-learning how to love. I always thought I knew what it meant to say "I love you" to anyone - mom, family, friends, Brendan. In reality, what I was really saying was "I think I love you, but, I don't trust you enough to be entirely honest, to let you in enough to love me for ME, nor do I trust you enough to be truly loved by ME." To love, both to give and to receive love, we must be who we are- through and through. Any falseness is our fear of Love, and Perfect Love (God) casts our fear. So, we trust. We learn to trust in Perfect Love, in Yahweh Elohim, then we learn to trust others. Love and trust must always go hand in hand. You would not love one you could not really trust, and you would not care to trust someone you did not love.

Praise God that He loves me enough to get me to trust Him. Thank God that He helps me and heals me, that I may grow in Love and Trust for my fellow believers, for my family, and for Brendan. God is good :)
